While some people out there, such as my dear (misguided) colleague Brenda Stolyar, are pro-read receipts, many texters feel that knowing when someone reads their messages (and vice versa) is incredibly stressful - especially when a response isn't delivered in a timely fashion. Start by checking your internet connection, making sure iMessage is enabled, verifying that both sender and receiver have iMessage enabled, confirming Send & Receive settings are correct, resetting iMessage and signing out of Apple ID if needed, updating software when available or contacting Apple Support for further assistance. If you’re having trouble with green messages on your iPhone, there are several steps you can take to try and fix the issue. They can provide more advanced troubleshooting steps or may help verify if there’s a problem with your device or iMessage service. If you still can’t fix the issue with green messages, reach out to Apple Support for help. If all else fails, contacting Apple Support can provide further assistance in resolving the issue. If it’s not, toggle it on, and then wait for the activation to complete. Go to Settings > Messages and ensure that iMessage is turned on. IMessage must be enabled to send blue messages. If needed, toggle the settings off and on again to reset the connection. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi to verify your Wi-Fi connection, or Settings > Cellular to confirm your device’s cellular data is enabled. Make sure that you are connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data.
